4. How does Windows SBS 2008 integrate with Microsoft Office Live Small Business?
   Windows SBS 2008 setup includes sign up for Microsoft Office Live Small Business, easily giving customers access to the newly upgraded Web service to more effectively market and sell online. Within the Windows SBS 2008 management console, Microsoft partners can help their customers set up and manage Office Live Small Business workspaces and their public web site, helping them improve collaboration between employees and with their business partners, and to present a more professional online image.
5. Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 Premium Edition included ISA Server, but SBS 2008 does not. Why? Does this make Windows SBS 2008 less secure?
   Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition technologies, Forefront Security for Exchange Server, Windows Live OneCare for Server, server and client reporting, network-wide patch management and other technologies within Windows SBS 2008 provide small businesses with excellent security and data protection. Changes to this new version product are based on customer and partner feedback. With every new version of a product, we do a lot of research and evaluate customer and partner feedback to determine how we can enhance the solution at an affordable cost.
6. Will SBS 2008 include a copy of Microsoft Office Outlook, like it is included in SBS 2003 R2?
   No, Microsoft Office Outlook will not be included in Windows SBS 2008. Windows SBS 2008 includes Exchange Server 2007 which no longer includes a copy of Outlook, unlike Exchange Server 2003.
7. What is Windows Live OneCare for Server?
   Windows Live OneCare has been an industry leader in providing security and all-in-one PC care services for consumers and small businesses. Taking those ideals further, Windows Live OneCare for Server is a new offering that extends the OneCare service to help those small businesses running Windows Small Business Server 2008. This will allow small businesses to better protect and maintain their business technology environment through:

16. I see that Forefront Security for Exchange Server is also part of the Small Business Server 2008 offering – how is Windows Live OneCare for Server different?
    OneCare for Server is designed especially to work with Windows Small Business Server 2008 and to provide anti-malware and security services to help protect and maintain the server operating system. Forefront Security for Exchange Server specifically protects users of Exchange Server, scanning e-mail from viruses, worms, spam, and inappropriate content.
17. Why is there no client anti-virus (AV) solution included in SBS 2008? What should my customers do for client AV?
    At this time, no client AV solution is included out-of-the-box with Windows Small Business Server 2008. This gives you maximum choice to select the most appropriate solution, from Microsoft or third-party, for your small business customers. One important benefit of SBS 2008 here is through a new and improved feature–enhanced reporting and monitoring across server and client–which can help you manage your customers’ environments more efficiently as it will work with any client security solution that you choose to provide for your customers’ needs.
18. Why is System Center Essentials not included in SBS 2008?
    Windows SBS 2008 is optimized and designed for small businesses with up to 75 desktops. The management tools included in Windows SBS 2008 are therefore also optimized to meet the needs of these customers. Based on insights from our customer and partner research, our goal is to integrate and include the right technologies at the right price, in a timely manner. For those partners and customers that desire System Center Essentials functionality based on their unique needs, System Center Essentials does work with Windows SBS 2008 and will be supported to run on the Windows SBS 2008 network.
19. Will Windows SBS 2008 support virtualization?
    Yes, Windows SBS 2008 will support virtualization. More details will be available in future.
20. Will I be able to upgrade my customers from SBS 2003 R2 to SBS 2008?
    We are working on a plan that takes into consideration that Windows SBS 2008 will be on 64-bit architecture and most small business customers typically upgrade their infrastructure software at the time of a hardware refresh. Since an in-place upgrade won’t be possible, we will provide guidance and tools to help you ensure a smooth migration on new 64-bit hardware. More details will follow at a later date.
21. How much will SBS 2008 cost and how will my customers be able to buy it? Pricing details will be available at a future date. Windows SBS 2008 will available in all channels—including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Open, Retail, and System Builder—after general availability.
22. How will SBS 2008 be licensed?
    Windows SBS 2008 will be offered in 2 editions: Standard and Premium. There will be separate Client Access Licenses (CALs) for Standard Edition and Premium Edition. New single Client Access Licenses will make SBS 2008 licensing more flexible and cost-effective.
23. Since my customer can now run Terminal Services (TS) in Application Mode on the 2nd server in Premium Edition, will TS CALs be included in the SBS CAL?
    No, TS CALs are not included in the SBS CAL & will be required to be purchased separately.
24. What about my SBS customers with Software Assurance (SA)? Will they receive a copy of Outlook 2007?
    Yes, we are committed to provide a solution for Windows SBS 2008 customers that have Microsoft Software Assurance. More licensing details will be available in the future.
25. What about my current SBS customers that are using the ISA Server functionality in SBS, since SBS 2008 doesn’t include ISA?
    Microsoft will provide an easy product and licensing upgrade path from ISA Server to Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG), the next version of ISA, and ISA Server customers that have or buy Microsoft Software Assurance will receive complete versions of TMG at time of launch.
    New customers that wish to use Forefront TMG will be able to run it on an Windows SBS 2008 network, typically on a second Windows Server.
26. Why will I need to run Forefront TMG on a separate Windows Server in an SBS 2008 network?
    We made changes to the recommended network architecture based on customer and partner feedback, who have expressed a preference to run their network firewall on a machine other than the main box, and thus have optimized Windows SBS 2008 for that scenario.
27. Is it true that new backup solution doesn’t support tape drives?
    Yes, that’s true because most Microsoft partners want to recommend disk backup to their customers, which is faster and more affordable. The new Windows Server 2008 backup technology uses block-based snapshot technology to make extremely fast, reliable backups that can be scheduled as frequently as every 30 minutes, with little performance impact on the server. This new technology requires backups to be run against an external disk. You can easily use a third-party tape backup solution with SBS 2008, if you prefer.
28. Who are the domain providers you are working with to allow me to easily set up the web site URL for my Windows SBS 2008 customers?
    You can easily use Windows SBS 2008 to connect to domain registration and pur¬chase services from eNom and Register.
29. Which OEMs will support SBS 2008?
    Hardware makers, including Dell, Fujitsu- Siemens, HP and IBM plan to deliver solutions built on Small Business Server 2008.
30. Is Windows SBS 2008 ready for line of business applications in my customers’ environment?
    With the second Windows Server 2008 in Premium Edition on a separate hardware server along with a copy of SQL 2008 Standard Edition technologies, Windows SBS 2008 is a strong platform for line of business applications.

VMRCplus is a tool for both configuration management of Virtual Server and remote control of virtual machines. It allows for local and remote management of Virtual Server and supports simultaneous management of up to 32 Virtual Server hosts.

Remote control sessions of virtual machines are grouped in a single window using Tab pages. The interface enables sorting virtual machines based on various properties like name, status and description. Multi-select of virtual machines enable you to perform actions to change their status or open remote control sessions all at once.
